Meet Elke — scientist, mum of three, and fearless surfer. Whether she’s chasing her kids down the beach or chasing waves in tropical lineups, she needs swimwear that can keep up with her. That’s where BounceDown comes in.

“I'm wearing a size 10E in the BounceDown swimsuit. My bra size is usually a 10F or FF — and this fits me perfectly.

From Queensland Beaches to Surfing Addict

Elke grew up immersed in ocean life — though not necessarily on a board at first.

“I spent most of my time under the water as a kid, and I didn’t really get into surfing until my 20s. But once I caught my first wave, I was hooked.”

Like many women learning to surf as adults, Elke faced a steep learning curve. But it’s exactly that challenge that made her fall in love with it.

“Surfing has taught me how to fail over and over again. You have to learn to read the ocean, understand your limits, and push through wipeouts and setbacks. It’s one of the hardest — but most rewarding — sports there is.”

The Wardrobe Malfunction Era (And How It Ended)

Elke’s early surf days featured more than their fair share of nip slips.

“I grew up in Queensland — string bikinis were the thing. I’ve had so many wardrobe malfunctions surfing. But since I started wearing BounceDown, that just doesn’t happen anymore. It fits, it stays in place, and I feel supported.”

As someone with a fuller bust, finding surf-friendly swimwear that’s actually wearable has always been a challenge — until now.

“The underwire placement in this swimsuit is a game changer. I can paddle in it without discomfort, and it doesn’t bunch or roll under my wetsuit.”

Mum-Tested. Wipeout-Proof.

With three young kids, Elke’s life is full-speed both in and out of the water.

“I’ve even run in my swimsuit down to nippers — and I don’t run! The fact that I can is a brilliant thing about this piece of activewear.”

Her BounceDown swimsuit keeps up with the chaos — and the calm.

“It’s comfortable, supportive, and allows me to move freely — whether I’m surfing, chasing kids, or getting smashed by a wave.”

And speaking of waves — Elke doesn’t do anything halfway.

“I’ve snapped boards, snapped leggys, had fin chop, broken ribs… all the things someone who goes hard would do — I’ve done it.”

Elke’s Advice to New Surfers

Despite all the wipeouts and hard lessons, Elke is proof that persistence pays off.

“It sucked at the start. But you’ve just got to keep at it. Learn to read a surf forecast, and get out of the whitewash. That’s where the real fun starts.”
